Saturday 31st October - Words, Witches and Wonderful Wares, Halloween  Event

Halloween day at Whitehall. Gifts, bric-a-brac and produce stalls plus end of season paperback book sale in spookily decorated rooms. Games for children and readings by the Friendly Witch in the Spooky Attic. Plus the launch of this year's Draw for Christmas hampers.

                              

         Witches selling gifts and produce, the friendly Witch telling spooky stories and the paperback book sale.

 

Saturday's in July and August 2009 - Art On The Lawn.

The popular annual art event gave visitors the opportunity to buy original art direct from artists and crafts people selling a range of media in different styles and prices. 

                                                                   

Saturday 4th July 2009 -  'Hurrah for Henry' The Tudor Fair.

 

                          

                                  

As well as the House Exhibition The Friends of Whitehall celebrated the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII to the throne with a Tudor Fair. You could enter the world of Henry VIII and his six wives, browse and buy at the colourful stalls full of goodies to tempt you,  books, cakes, delicious edibles, gifts, herbs and much more with friendly costumed stallholders.

Saturday 13th June 2009 -  Whitehall's Birthday Free Admission Day.

With music, entertainment and stalls, including the Friends of Whitehall paperback book stall specialising in crime and thrillers. Plus traditional homemade cake and biscuit stall and gift and fancy goods stall. A free Friends' cupcake with all beverage purchases in the tearoom Whitehall was looking very festive for its 31st birthday. Visitors were treated to an excellent display of traditional clog dancing in the front garden by The Pennyroyal Clog Dancers, making a very welcome return to Whitehall.

                                          

                                                                                                          

   Friday 15th May 2009 - Cheam Charter Fair Day in Park Road and Whitehall.

This annual event celebrating Cheam's heritage offered visitors a selection of stalls with books, crafts and bric-a-brac and refreshments in the tearoom, in spite of the forecast the weather was dry and Whitehall had a steady stream of visitors.  

                                                     

Saturday 4th April 2009 - Annual Easter Fair

The friends' annual Easter fair was held in the Parochial rooms when the hall was filled with a variety of stalls selling everything from Easter goodies to jewellery, cards and flowers. After a damp start to the day the sun came out and the fair was well attended.

 

Saturday 14th February  2009 -  Friends' Valentine Fair.

A special themed event for Valentine's day, which included a paperback book stall with a hint of romance, a pretty gift stall, a delicious cake stall and a raffle. The Queen of Hearts was present to greet visitors as they arrived at Whitehall and then presided over all activities                                                                                    

                                                                                                          

                                                                                                                                                                               

Saturday 31st January  2009 - Friends Super Jumble Sale                                      

The Friends of Whitehall Super Jumble Sale at the Cheam Parochial Rooms, The Broadway, Cheam. This event was well attended with a good choice of clothes, china, glass and books to rummage through.

 

                                                                                                                     

 

Friday 5th December 2008 - Whitehall Late Night Shopping Evening

Whitehall was open with free admission for this annual Christmas event. The House was very busy with visitors and the tea-room was popular for refreshments. including hot mince pies The Friends of Whitehall were selling gifts, videos and more.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Saturday 22nd November 2008  - Mistletoe Craft & Gift Market

Held at the Parochial Rooms, across the road from Whitehall, The Friends Christmas Fair was full of tempting goods on display in a very festive atmosphere, well supported by a variety of stallholders with some very colourful stalls selling a variety of goods and stallholders with very seasonal outfits and hats.

 

Saturday 14th June  2008 - Whitehall's 30th  - The Pearl Anniversary

A special event celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Whitehall opening to the public as a historic house; offered free admission to all visitors, who were greeted with complimentary refreshments and birthday cake. Councillor Graham Tope was presented with a cheque for £4,301 from The Friends of Whitehall, who have been awarding an annual grant towards the upkeep of the building for the last thirty years.

 

                                                                

                    The climax of a year's work by the Friends of Whitehall resulted in a cheque for £4,310 being presented to 

                               Councillor Graham Tope as the Friend's contribution to the cost of the upkeep of Whitehall.
