Tuesday 7th February, 2012 - 7 pm - Stories From the Past - Reading Group.

Enjoy a friendly look at fiction set in past times, with our historical fiction readers group. The Help by Kathryn Stockett and The Amateur Marriage by Anne Tyler. Admission free (except for refreshments). Thursdays  9th, 16th, 23rd February, 2012 - 4.15 - 5.45 pm. - Craft Club.

After-school craft club for 11 - 18 year olds. In collaboration with the British Crafts Council we are launching a club where young adults can learn useful crafts from locally based older residents. Booking recommended.

 

 

                                      

 

Saturday 11th February, 2012 - 10 am - 4 pm -  Valentine Fair at Whitehall.

A colourful fare with stalls full of pretty gifts, fancy goods and delicious edibles to tempt you. The Queen of Hearts will be there to invite you to take part in a special Valentine raffle. Special Valentine treats in the tea room. FREE ADMISSION to House. 

 

Saturday 11th February, 2012 - 2.30 - 4pm - Valentine Arts and Crafts.

Make Valentine cards for valentines day. Free drop in session.

 

Tuesday 14th February, 2012 - 11.00 am - 12.30 pm - Valentine Arts and Crafts.

Get creative and make Valentine gifts to take home. 5 - 11 year olds. £4.00.

Thursday 16th February, 2012 - 7.30 pm - Wine Tasting - Adults only.

Join us for a trip around the world. Sample twelve different wines from Australia, Italy, South Africa, Portugal and the South of France at our wine tasting evening. Cheese and biscuits will also be provided. £10. Booking essential.

Saturday 10th March, 2012 - 8 pm - An Evening With Dickens.

As part of the Dickens Bicentennial Anniversary come and 'meet' characters Dickens drew from his own life. Carshalton Glee will be singing songs Dickens would have known. Sunday 18th March, 2012 - 11.00 am - 12.30 pm - Mothers Day Event.

Take part in games and art and crafts at Whitehall. Fun for all the family to enjoy together. For families - £3 for adults and £2 for children, booking recommended.

 

Saturday 24th March, 2012 - 7.00 pm - Victorian Murder Mystery.

An evening of intrigue at Whitehall. Join us for a Victorian murder mystery evening. You will be given your own character, with your own secret objectives, and will take part in the investigation of a murder. The murder mystery game will take about 3 hours, and dinner will be provided during the evening. Adults only, £25 including dinner. Booking is essential.

 

Saturday 31st March, 2012 - 9.30 am - 4 pm  - Friends of Whitehall Easter Fair in the Parochial Rooms, Cheam Village.

Stalls galore full of enticing crafts, hand made goods, gifts and delicious edibles. Special Easter raffle (to be drawn at 3.30 pm). A creative drawing day for teenagers, 13 - 19 year olds. Led by an artist you will explore the architecture of Whitehall, a Tudor building in Cheam. A fun day and a chance to produce new work for your art portfolio. £15 booking essential  

 

Thursday 12th April, 2012 - 2.30 - 4.00 pm - Children's Art and Crafts.

Come along to Whitehall for our spring arts and crafts. Make giant animals and insects including butterflies and dragonflies to hang up at home. £4 -  5 to 11 year olds.   Booking recommended

 

Saturday 14th April, 2012 - 12.00 - 2.30 pm - Teddy Bear Picnic.

If the weather is fine come along to Whitehall for a teddy bear picnic in our lovely garden. Bring a teddy and your own food and enjoy playing with other families. A free family event.

 

Saturday 21st April, 2012 - 7.30 pm - HERITAGE QUIZ - At The Orangery, Carshalton Water Tower. Annual Quiz hosted by The Friends of the Water Tower.

Entry is for teams of four and the price of tickets is £2.50 each. If you wish to enter a team use the contact form and we will give you a contact telephone number. If you would like to join in but do not have a team we may be able to put you in touch with others.

Saturday 16th June, 2012 - 10 am - 4 pm - Diamond Jubilee Fare at Whitehall.

Celebrate Whitehall's 34th. Birthday and the Royal Diamond Jubilee with stalls, games and sideshows and a Super Jubilee Raffle. Together with the paperback stall. Stall holders will be dressed as Victorians in honour of that other Queen who celebrated a Diamond Jubilee (with some representing the Elizabeth II  era) A free piece of cake for all tea room visitors, courtesy of the Friends of Whitehall.
