SSPearl of the Realm: The Story of Nonsuch Palace From Wednesday 24th March Until Sunday 22nd. May A look at the story of Nonsuch Palace, our local vanished treasure. Built for King Henry VIII to be the most elaborately decorative and personal of all his palaces. It only lasted around 150 years before being pulled down, leaving only its name to remind us of its splendour.
"Unsung Heroines of World War Two." Unsung Heroines featured the real life stories of the women and girls of World War Two; ordinary people whose lives changed forever, overnight. The stories that were featured at Whitehall were the stories of local women. The full Unsung Heroines project is the work of local photo and sound journalist, Belinda Sinclair. The exhibition has now finished but the project is ongoing and will continue until there are no more stories to collect. If you have a wartime story to tell, please write it down and include your full name and, particularly if a woman, the name you were known by during wartime - nickname, pet name, maiden name etc. If you have photographs to include please copy them and identify who is who in the picture, then send your story to Belinda Sinclair. click here to contact Belinda by email.
